The core department offers B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with thorough and well decorated academic planning structure for theoretical understanding and their practical applications. The intuition of the department is to develop leaders of tomorrow and conduct translational research to address major technological bottlenecks.

The department has efficiently combined the traditional and futuristic laboratories to inculcate technological skills among the pursuing students. In a broad sense we have an Applied Robot Control labcollaborated with Indo-Euro Synchronization-APS GmbH–European Centre for Mechatronics-Germany, CAD/CAM lab, CNC milling lab, Thermal Engineering Lab,Machine Tools Lab, Theory of Machines Lab, Heat Transfer Lab, Metrology & Instrumentation Lab, Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic MachinesLab, Production Technology Lab, Mechanics of Solids lab and Metallurgy Lab facilities.This creates potential career opportunities in diverse areas viz. in railways, automotive industries,powergeneration plants, medical and manufacturing industries.

The department is being nourished by dedicated teaching and research professionals and the highly skilled lab staff. Faculties of the departments are also working curiously on diverse domains of research projects. We strive to contribute towards national progress by welding together the zeal and enthusiasm of the undergraduates by reciprocating.

To develop the high quality mechanical engineers with in-depth fundamentals , intellectuality adopt, professionally deft, innovative research capabilities , exemplary skills and competence to use cutting edge technology for the progress of mankind, training and adoption to changing technological environment by providing high quality instruction, infra, faculty, modern teaching and learning methods by imbibing the socio-ethical and entrepreneurial values as the inner strength for the rural development.


PROGAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO ‘s)

    1.Preparation: To strengthen the learners with cognizant knowledge in fundamental concepts of Engineering Mathematics, Applied Sciences and basic engineering subjects for problem analysis, comprehend to develop solutions for hardware, software and other tools in the area of Mechanical Engineering.

    2. Core Competence: To enable the learners with core curriculum knowledge in theory and practical of mechanical engineering to develop the innovative skills in design, critical analysis, simulation, investigation of complex problems, reasoning, manufacturing, development & testing knowledge for offering solutions to real life problems related to the field of Mechanical Engineering.

    3. Breadth Knowledge: To mould the learners with breadth knowledge in mechanical engineering to lead the team work in developing field exposure, operation, maintenance of machines along with lifelong learning, communicative abilities and aptitude of project management & finance with entrepreneurial values for the industrial development.

    4. Advanced Professional knowledge: Incorporating a system of multi-disciplinary approach and development of R&D skills by MOUs with premier industries and institutions, interacting with training sessions and visits to renowned industries for the learners to have awareness in the latest trends of Modern Tools of Mechanics, Mechatronics, Robotics etc… to cater the escalating needs of society.

    5. Career Development and ethics: To enable the learners with the aptitude of competitive knowledge of real time requirement of cutting edge technologies of intellectually adept to promote employability, higher education and imbibing ethical, social and eco-friendly atmosphere.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO’s)

    PSO1: The students will be able to apply principles of thermal engineering, product design and development including applications appropriate to the mechanical engineering discipline.

    PSO2: The students will be able to get an employment in mechanical engineering and related industry and be able to participate and succeed in all competitive examinations like PGECET, GATE, CAT, GRE and TOEFL.
