-The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.An Academic Institution plays a vital role in handing over a generation to the society who can construct it filled with knowledge and values. By keeping that noble intention in mind, Tirumala Engineering College follows some practices which keep it as one of its kind.
Patriotism: As per the guidelines of the Govt of India, we start the day with our National Song ‘Vandemataram” and end the day with National Anthem ‘Janaganamana’. We proudly deliver that this is the way we try to inculcate ‘Patriotism’ among student community.
Celebration of August 15th and Jan-26th without fail: The two most important days that remind us the sacrifices of so many patriots of our country are August 15th and January 26th. Unfortunately these two days turned out as holidays in this modern generation. However, our college is an exception to this. We celebrate these 2 days in a grand manner. Moreover, no faculty is sanctioned leave on these two days and each faculty and student attends college to be a part of these memorable events.
Against to Electro Magnetic Pollution:
Being responsible towards society and against to all kinds of pollution, the institution is not only a green campus but bans the usage of mobile phones for students which can distract their education and spoils their valuable time, in the college premises.
Bikes are not allowed:
As per the statistics, 69.3% of the accident victims in India were teenagers. One incident can bring out a drastic change in their lives. Hence being the second parent, our college framed a strict norm that no student is allowed to attend college on bikes. Everyone should make use of the college bus transport only. We are glad to share that this decision of the college received appreciation from the parental community as well.
Informing Absentees to the parents:
Proper care and guidance are needed for teenagers as they are amidst of so many distractions. This indifference motivates them for the absence to the college. To control this attitude of the student, college introduced a system of informing absentees to concerned parent by phone. The information of the student’s absence will be informed to the parent immediately within half an hour after the college begins.
Effective counseling system:
Teacher can bring an effective change in the lives of a student. Not only simply adhering to academics, teachers must act like a mentor who can guide the careers of the students in a right direction. To make this happen, our college maintains an Effective Counseling System where each faculty is held responsible for 20 students. The concerned faculty conducts counseling to his/her set of students and observes their weak areas in education, behavior and guides towards a right path in achieving success.
Motivation towards Sports & Games for all: We sincerely believe that the student achieves success in his career when the curriculum is designed in a way where sports are also given significance. Sports are stress busters and one of the career options as well. So we encourage students to participate in various in-door and out-door games to keep themselves fit both physically and mentally.
Induction Programme by ‘Art of Living’: It is well known that he Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization (NGO). It has centers in more than 176 countries. It offers several stress-elimination and self-development programs based on breathing techniques, meditation and yoga. To provide the significance of mental fitness and concentration for students we begin the induction program for I year students with this. Many students are involved in practicing YOGA, which is a satisfactory note to us.
Campus is under Electronic Surveillance: Discipline is one of the key elements of our institution’s success. To monitor the students’ behavior and to protect them by not indulging into unethical and in-disciplinary activities, the entire college is held under Electronic Surveillance.
Utilization of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (Solar) for total campus. We can proudly say that our institution is one of the very few ones that make use of Engineering Concepts in reality. To promote the use of Non- Conventional Energy, we have installed solar panels in the entire campus and using as resources of power.
Organic Vegetation: Organic farming, is an agricultural system that uses fertilizers of organic origin such as compost manure, is followed in our campus in order to grow vegetables. Using such natural practices provides health and hygiene.
Parents Meet: There will be a frequent meeting with parents to submit their child’s progress in both academics and attitude. Parents will be given necessary suggestions in looking after their child’s over all development.
